INNVEST: AMERICA'S HOTEL ON-LINE SUPERSTORE HONORED FOR BUSINESS EXCELLENCE ON THE WEB BY IDG's WEBMASTER MAGAZINE

Framingham, MA--August 20, 1997INNVEST: America's Hotel On-Line Superstore (www.innvest.com) is among the top 100 Internet and intranet sites, according to WebMaster magazine. Award- winning sites arefeatured in the magazine's special August edition, the WebMaster 50/50 issue.

The WebMaster 50/50 awards program recognizes innovative Internet and intranet development efforts. The award is given to 50 Internet and 50 intranet sites that use the 'Net to meet overall business objectives.

Nearly 900 WebMaster site visitors filled out an electronic ballot at the WebMaster site (www.web-master.com) to nominate a Web environment, a single site or a single application. WebMaster editors judged each nomination based on the following criteria: which organizations use the Web to open new markets, expand existing ones, manage information, and/or maintain cost-effective interactions.

According to Innvest president Deirdre Murphy, "The significance of the WebMaster 50/50 award is that it provides our lodging industry browsers and members with the comfort of knowing that Innvest is on the right track and that Internet industry leaders confirm it. Winning this award puts us in very heady company. Further, of the 50 Internet site winners, Innvest was one of only 10 that were specially recognized as the Best and the Busiestsites that looked good and worked hard.". Other 50/50 winners include American Greeting Cards, American Heart Association, Apple, Ask the Builder, C-SPAN, Cisco Systems, Eastman Kodak, Federal Express, Microsoft's Expedia, Pacific Bell, Reynolds Metals, Texas Instruments, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the United States Geological Society.

According to WebMaster magazine Publisher and Editor in Chief Lew McCreary, "These award winners anticipate and adapt to the flow of the mercurial Web, trying not just to go with it but managing to stay out in front. They most clearly represent the benchmarks, circa 1997, of business excellence on theWeb. The real champions of the WebMaster 50/50 are sites that look good and work hard. Web sites (such as Innvest) are the best and busiest destination sites. They are places people go to do something, learn something and save time. They are increasingly becoming critical points of interaction."

Innvest's mission is to be a centralized lodging industry web site so people are more easily able to connect with each other in order to facilitate doing a wide range of transactions including buying hotels, locating financing, soliciting a franchise, searching for product and service providers, employment opportunities, trade/association information, posting of needs in a "wanted" section, and the like. Innvest currently has over 300 hotels for sale on line.
