The lodging industry's Internet Web Presence was recently expanded by the birth of
Innvest: America's Hotel Online Superstore.
Innvest at http://www.innvest.com, was conceived by Jeff Wilder,
president of the New York-based Wilder Group (and longtime H&MM On Finance columnist), and Wilder
Group partner Deirdre Murphy in partnership with Net Properties Corp., a firm specializing in cyberspace
real-estate marketing. The goal is to provide a centralized meeting ground for all commercial activities in the industry.
Murphy serves as President of Innvest.
The Superstore allows users to view hundreds of hotel-acquisition opportunities, check out the present
lending appetite of the many industry-financing sources, and comparison-shop the lodging industry's numerous
product and service providers from the Internet directly to their computer, printer or fax machine, including
deal information, lender specifications and loan forms.
Invest's goals is to be a sophisticated, interactive Yellow Pages for the lodging industry.
Interactive efficiency
Murphy said one of Innvest's goals is to
bring industry participants together efficiently and interactively, whether they want to buy or sell,
finance or refurbish, locate consultants or learn about the franchising potential of a particular property.
"We recognize that agglomerating several hundred hotels for sale under one roof will attract most of the
buying group out there to this Internet web site," Murphy said. "Lodging industry product and service
providers should also find it appealing to market their wares and services to the decision-makers visiting
the site, so we are making cyberspace shop space available to everyone in the industry at a reasonable cost."
