Deirdre Murphy began her professional real estate career in 1986 and has specialized in lodging property brokerage since 1990. In that time span, her outstanding closing record has elevated her from sales executive to a principal in the firm, Wilder Group, L.L.C.

Having completed dozens of hotel sales since her decision to specialize in hotel sales, she has sold many franchised and independent properties for banks, government agencies and private individuals. Ms. Murphy has also been very active in the Hotel & Motel Brokers of America (HMBA), the oldest and largest group of hotel brokers in the United States. It is responsible for selling over 30 percent of all hotels sold in the United States each year.

Her HMBA peers have recognized her sales volume and professionalism with numerous awards, including Hotel Sales Achievement Awards (in recognition of outstanding sales production); an HMBA Co-op Sales Award (for having completed the most co-op sales in a year); and three HMBA Unique Deal of the Year awards (for having closed the year’s most complicated transaction).

Deirdre is a member of the Board of Directors of the HMBA and has graduated from its Certified Hotel Broker Program, earning her the prestigious CHB designation. The CHB program is sponsored by the University of Texas (Austin) and HMBA. Course work includes information technology and hotel brokerage; economics of the lodging industry; hotel investment analysis; sales strategy and marketing plans; and developing hotel packages.

Deirdre Murphy is also a principal in Wilder Group, L.L.C.’s subsidiary called Innvest, America’s Hotel On-line Superstore. Innvest is an Internet site that has attracted over 300 hotel listings.
